🎯 Goal
Display a heatmap overlay on a Google Map using Flutter — showing data density such as user activity, locations, or hotspots.
⚙️ Step 1: Create a New Google Cloud Project
- Go to Google Cloud Console
- Click “New Project” → give it a name like
flutter_heatmap_demo
- Enable Billing (required for Maps SDK)
- Go to APIs & Services → Library
- Enable these APIs:
- Maps SDK for Android
- Maps SDK for iOS
- Maps JavaScript API (optional, for testing on web)
🔑 Step 2: Get Your API Keys
- Go to APIs & Services → Credentials → Create Credentials → API Key
- Copy the key and restrict it to:
- Android apps (use package name + SHA-1)
- iOS apps (use bundle ID)
- Save the key — you’ll need it for your Flutter app.
